How to Help

Donate

As United Stroke Alliance continues to grow, we are continually adding new programs and services. Each of our programs and services provides stroke awareness and education or direct support to stroke survivors and their caregivers. Here is a listing of those programs and services:

  • Retreat & Refresh Stroke Camp
Retreat & Refresh Stroke Camp is a national network of weekend retreats for survivors and caregivers. It's focus is on improving quality of life in recovery from stroke.
  • Strike Out Stroke
Strike Out Stroke is a national campaign fighting to reduce the prevalence of strokes in our communities. Our goal is to also ensure that those struck by stroke receive timely treatment by raising the awareness of BE-FASTER!
  • YES (Youth Education on Stroke)
Since 2009, we have been conducting our Youth Education on Stroke (YES) program to increase awareness of stroke symptoms among youth. In the YES program, a teacher, nurse, or other educator uses a curriculum centered around prevention and awareness to help 5th grade students (chosen due to their degree of science literacy and receptiveness to learning this type of information) learn the signs of stroke and to take early action if someone they know may be having a stroke. Typically, the YES program is presented in a health class or science class.
  • Stronger Than A Stroke
Whether maintaining good health or lowering the risk of another stroke, exercise is a key element. In cooperation with Anytime Fitness in Peoria, IL and Germantown Hills, IL, survivors are offered free gym time with a trainer, once a week. In addition, special memberships are offered to survivors and caregivers.
  • PARS
PARS is a course centered around the Prevention, Awareness, and Recovery of Stroke in your workplace. The curriculum is designed specifically for business professionals & organizations.
